Indian Army to test locally made 'shoot and scoot' gun, relocating in 85 seconds
The Government of West Bengal, through a notification issued by the Home and Hill Affairs Department (Police Service Cell) on July 7, 2025, transferred three senior IPS officers to new positions. The changes will take effect from the date the officers assume their new charges and will remain in force until further orders.
Siddh Nath Gupta, IPS, who was serving as Director General of Police, State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), West Bengal, has been appointed as Director General and Inspector General of Police, Intelligence Branch, West Bengal. He replaces Gyanwant Singh, IPS, who has now been posted as Additional Director General and Inspector General of Police, Traffic and Road Safety, West Bengal.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar Singh, IPS, who held the position of ADG & IGP, Traffic and Road Safety, has been transferred to the post of ADG & IGP, Policy, West Bengal. The notification states that these appointments have been made in the interest of public service and were issued under the order of the Governor.
